2021 Final Four Lacrosse Championship
The League has awarded the Shreveport Bossier Sports Commission (SBSC) in partnership with Varsity Sports Now and the north region teams the bid to host the 2021 LHSLL State Championship Weekend. The Final Four (semi-final/championship) will be held on Saturday May 15th and Sunday May 16th at Lee Hedges Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana. Varsity Sports Now will live-stream all matchups.
Semi-final game times are set for 2pm (Jesuit vs. Lower Alabama) and 5pm (Byrd vs. Catholic) on Saturday. Sunday’s Championship game is tentatively set for 1:00pm.
From Assistant Commissioner James Dicken: “The league is proud and excited to award the 2021 Final Four to the Shreveport Bosser Sports Commission, Varsity Sports Now and a group including many North Region teams. The combined efforts by all involved will no doubt make this weekend a memorable one. Covid-19 may have stopped a 2020 champion from being crowned, but we are so excited to partner with the SBSC to make this the best championship weekend yet.
Lee Hedges Stadium is an excellent venue, playing host to the LHSLL Final Four in 2009 and 2016. Shreveport is an awesome place to spend a weekend watching the best high school lacrosse the area has to offer.”
The combination of resources from the SBSC, Varsity Sports Now, the north Region teams, and the LHSLL itself will provide for a long, beneficial relationship among parties to promote and grow the sport. We are working to provide every necessity to make this event the best championship to date.
From Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission Sales Manager Sara Aymond: “We are proud to partner with the local lacrosse community in hosting this tournament and four of the state’s top teams here in Shreveport- Bossier City. We’ll deliver nothing less than world-class hospitality!”
From Varsity Sports Now Founder/CEO Eric Richey: “We are thrilled to be partnering with the LHSLL again this year. As the league grows we are excited to expand our coverage of lacrosse statewide. That will include the live-streaming of all three games of Championship Weekend, with a television like production, including multiple cameras, replays, and graphics. It will be an exciting weekend in Shreveport in May and we are happy to be a part of it. We are also fortunate to be able to stream many of the lacrosse games for two of our affiliate schools St. Thomas More and Isidore Newman.”
